Hours after Peach Blossom Mountain collapsed, rescuers worked tirelessly in the fog to save people from the ruins. The party was able to fight off a number of fungal zombie monsters. They saved from stones soldier Bea Fen and a number of initiates from their quarters, then Clay Shaleson and judge Teair, father of Rols, from the Temple of Justice. Mostly spent after an encounter with giant acid frogs, creepers, and tenders, they turned back and found a number of suspicious clues on the way out, including waterbender druid Quinn-Penn poking around, the body of Gaeff the Urushi courier, and eroded foundations. Accompanying refugees to the Weeping Goblet, the party saw Rats receiving and possibly taking advantage of their homeless rivals, agreeing to accommodate them in exchange for work.

We were called to deal with the aftermath of Weeping Goblet Spire taking in Standing Ox refugees from the collapsed Spire of Everblooming Peaches. We met Kippo Osprey of the Tide Rats, who told us they can't feed everyone. We saw Glenn meet Dale and argue, and went inside the spire. A Green moss creature attacked and we killed it, but we found that the Green is soaking into the spire from below. Then Glenn found a pristine hidden garden of Dale's and freaked out because everyone hates nature. We returned to the Standing Ox living area. Grandmaster Lonnie of the Standing Ox was whipping the people into a frenzy at the bidding of 2 Smoldering Feast agents. Propaganda against the rats about trying to exploit and enslave them - and Glenn revealed Dale's garden. It turned into a riot. We stopped it for now, and used druid magic to help with food and hopefully make them more accepting of nature. Met Edie Huh "Mouse" who has some authority and told us where to go to get more clean plants to help crops more.

Tortles-> Dale is Tide Rat, Glenn is Standing Ox. They're brothers, terrible relationship.

At the behest of Lonnie Justure, Standing Ox sect leader, the party set forth on the Prince of Cats, captained by Tiberius Capsule, accompanied by the dwarf Petra. The ship was attacked by a sky leviathan afflicted by the Green, which was heroically brought down after protracted combat by several ballistas and 3 of Captain Storm's strategic fireballs. The group made it to the ocean and sailed east to Finnian Island, where they encountered a group of Tide Rats. After a tense negotiation with Mouse and Kippo Osprey, Tu'i the Ox Custodian convinced Mouse to share information and consider closer collaboration with the Standing Ox in the future. The Rat expedition was collecting salt and two of each native (uncontaminated) animal to return to the Urushi for experimentation. The Urushi believe that the humans deserved the Green, but the animals didn't because they are innocent. They are experimenting on animals to see if they can survive in the Green. The Rats do not agree with this, but are helping this effort for now.

GM Notes: The battle was indeed epic. However, the plan was ill-fated: Clay, an undercover Rat agent and Sonny's longtime assistant, beseeched Sonny to not sacrifice himself in the mountain-raising ritual so that he could lead the Standing Ox instead of his aggressive son Lonnie. Clay also believed the plan would not succeed, with the mountain doomed to crumble after. The party convinced Sonny however of the importance of facing his mistakes and confronting his son's mis-leadership of the Standing Ox.

On the Weeping Goblet, the party spoke to Tide Rat quartermaster Lenny-Kane and convinced him of the benefits of investing in relationships and goodwill with the Ox refugees. They recommended that he better feed the Ox refugees by any means necessary but also that he should send people to visibly work on quality of life issues or water cleanliness, even if the issues are minor or the help is largely ineffective. The mere presence of Tide Rat agents working there would serve to mollify complaints.

In order to help Master Mouse of the Tide Rats open cooperation with the Standing Ox sect, the party went on an excursion to find Grandmaster Athena as a mediator. They did so with great efficiency, using a number of divinations to find her in deep meditation buried under the rubble of Peach Mountain. Patrolling Green monsters were defeated without trouble. Athena, rescued, was able to settle the story of what happened 1219 years ago when King Daniel and the druid Louisha, founders of the Ox and Rat schools, separated amid betrayal. In truth, after leading a band of refugees to the safety of the spires, they simply decided that their band was too large to settle on one spire, with Peach Mountain and the Weeping Goblet serving as a convenient pair.

With agreement achieved, Tide Rat Mouse and elder Sonny of the Standing Ox went to a place of potent elements between their home spires, where water met earth, and began a ritual to meld them. The party served as their agents within a bubble of spirit space and guided a pair of warring elder elementals into forming a harmonious yin-yang of land and water. From the fusion arose Wood energy, and in control of that raw force the adventurers were able to create a new Greenbending technique, Edens Evolution.
